EGG UPDATE

Just an FYI. After the snow had melted, Uncle David went over across the creek and found 6 eggs. None had any money (you guys are good!) and the mice had already snacked on one of them! Happy Friday.

Olivia vs Peanut Butter & Jelly Crustable

Today has been a big day at the Troost house.. For breakfast we put in a microwavable peanut butter & jelly crustable..Olivia went to take a bite and she squeezed it and the "HOT" jelly burned her hand... I heard the cry every mother knows and hates.. After putting it under cold water it started to blister and bubble so off to the med center we went.. They told us that she had 2nd degree burns that will probably not scar.. She was such a trooper..She was very interested in the fact that the guy that put magic cream on it and wrapped it was a paramedic that rode/drove the ambulances.. Cool stuff for 5 years old...They then gave her meds and sent us on our way.. Just another day in the life of a 5 year old and a peanut butter and jelly crustable....

What a great husband I have!

Tim got easter eggs for me so we could do a easter egg hunt because over the past few years he has learned that no matter how old we all are your never too old for a little egg hunt and candy. We split the eggs in half and took turns hiding them .... tim won
Tims time: 3 min. and 49 sec.
My time: 4 min. and 20 sec.

Hes a really good hider!! one sad note there was no money in these eggs :( Love you all Andrea Joy

'Someone' (SAMANTHA JO) thought that I should have a picture of her. . . .isn't she lovely???

(she REALLY is . . . . most of the time :))
Samantha's German exchange students participated in the egg hunt!

Look out Stacey!

Pool Shark Olivia is shown here 'chalking up' her stick! (I'm not sure this is the correct terminology). She did this frequently and I think it really helped! After a little practice, she'll be ready to join your league Stacey!

It's Just a Baby!!

Will the real bunny please stand up.

Zipp adi do da

Just got this photo from Ken J. This is Taylor on the zip line "zippin through the jungle" in Costa Rica....What a riot this was. It was very scary at first but after a few times we got pretty daring.. I think we went about 10 times back and forth through the jungle... Too much fun! kim

Because We Can

Today started with a phone call from my girlfriend.."Can you get lunch today?" I quickly processed in my mind, I don't do lunch... but as she waited for my answer I said with the inevitable "I can't I'm heading out for a run ".. As most days after Olivia gets on the bus at 11:45 I plan my day with some sort of exercise in it...I can't wait to get that workout in...Today however was different... For the first time in a long time, I just didn't feel like it.. I thought about what it would be like to go to lunch and just have an "I don't feel like it day"...
The next call was Kate saying "Have you thought about running today".. AHHH Just when I needed it .. wisdom or insanity, it was perfect timing....Yes, of course lets go around 1:00... then we discussed that we better go for a long run because it is going to snow this weekend... then shorts or pants was discussed (these days you never know) and ended with a see you soon.
Kate showed up as always on time and we headed out into the sun. I still didn't feel like it.. Around mile 3 we got into our rhythm and my whole demeaner changed...It was amazing...We usually have a lot to talk about on our runs.. We solve a lot of issues out on the roads.. By the time we got to mile 8 with one to go I felt awesome.. We talked about the Hoyt family and it charged me up again.. How a father can run many races with his disabled son.. How we have legs that move (they are really sore from lunges this week-powerflex class) and we can use them.. We also talked about the lady we met during the Chicago marathon that just survived her brain tumor and couldn't wait to get out on the roads.. As we turned down the driveway I was SO grateful for Kates call... I could of had that "I don't feel like it day"but instead I had one of the best runs I have had in awhile..
I will leave you with this from my day.....Sometimes we "don't feel like it" but you never really know what it has in store for you unless you "go for it.." It applies to all aspect of life..For me I needed to be reminded..."For runners its just simply the roads calling your name...."

Tim and I went to Coco beach for the day and while Tim was fishing he had two friends and pelican and a stork like bird. Anytime he would catch a fish they tried to steal the fish from him right out of the water. I didn't like he they got so close it freaked me out. The best was the shark its so little and cute but it scared the both of us we weren't sure what to do
with a shark ahhh!! We are laying low today we are a little sunburned!
love you all

It's official!!!!

Tim and Andrea are officially married now, because it was in the paper today!

Our first 'empty-nester' project! Here is David cutting a hole between Ryan & Ross's old room and Stacey's. The french doors behind him are what will go there because the girls had this fabulous idea to combine the two and I think the exact (and very motivating) words were 'for future grandbabies when we come home for a visit'!

Florida love Birds Do exist !!!

Why Hello family Tim and Andrea here reporting from Florida we made it in one piece and we are very happy with our apartment its small but its starting to feel like home. Tim has orientation tomorrow and then we might go to cocco beach for the day. Its true we are only 45 min from cocco beach its a hard life. We are also only 10 min from the airport no noise but very handy.Today we bought a couch and i did laundry and while it was drying i walked around out side and read my book by the pool!! All in all it was a good day. Tim said that he felt like a grown up finally on his 26th birthday... who knew that all it took was a non-floral print couch the whole married thing is a side factor i guess:) He He Well we love you all and miss you have a good weekend love tim &Andrea
